Welcome, I’m Sophie
BExSS (CEP) (Hons), AEP, AES, PGDipMedSon (Cardiac), AMS, CRFC
I am an Accredited Exercise Physiologist (ESSA), having completed a Bachelor of Exercise and Sports Science (Honours, majoring in Clinical Exercise Physiology) at the University of Queensland in 2018. I am also an Accredited Cardiac Sonographer (ASAR), with a Postgraduate Diploma of Medical Sonography (Cardiac) completed through the University of South Australia in 2021. Since then, I have continued to develop my expertise in cardiovascular care, including completing the Cardiovascular Rehabilitation Foundations certification.
Alongside CardioCare, I work as a Cardiac Sonographer at St Vincent's Private Hospital Sydney and as a Casual Academic at UNSW Sydney.
CardioCare was inspired by my own father's journey with cardiovascular disease. Witnessing the challenges he faced gave me a deep appreciation for the impact that compassionate support, education and exercise can have on recovery, confidence and long-term health.
That experience continues to shape the way I work today. My goal is to create a welcoming and supportive environment where you feel heard, informed and empowered to take positive steps towards better health. Whether you're recovering from a cardiac event, managing a chronic condition, or simply looking to improve your overall well-being, I look forward to supporting you every step of the way.
What CardioCare Clinic supports
Heart health looks different for everyone — and so does the support you need. Whether you're taking proactive steps, managing an ongoing condition, recovering from a cardiac event, or living with something like POTS or dysautonomia, you'll find the support here.
-
Taking charge of your heart health starts with understanding the factors that influence it. Some aspects of your health and lifestyle — if left unaddressed — can gradually increase the risk of heart disease over time.
We focus on the factors you can influence, such as physical activity, blood pressure, cholesterol, blood sugar, stress and daily habits — providing practical guidance and strategies to help you take positive steps. It's about getting ahead of things, with support that fits into your life.
-
Navigating life with a heart condition requires ongoing understanding and support. Whether you're managing coronary artery disease, living with a heart rhythm disorder, or have been diagnosed with a cardiomyopathy — our aim is to help you live as fully and confidently as possible.
We work closely with you to develop safe, sustainable exercise programs that help manage symptoms, build strength and fitness, and support your everyday life.
-
Experiencing a cardiac event or undergoing heart surgery can be a significant and challenging experience.
We provide structured, personalised exercise and education programs that are carefully tailored to your unique recovery timeline and needs.
Our goal is to help you safely regain your physical strength, rebuild your confidence and smoothly transition back to your daily activities.
-
We create a space where women's health experiences are heard, understood and supported. Whether you're navigating hormonal changes, managing a health condition, recovering from a cardiac event, or looking to prioritise your long-term wellbeing, care is tailored to your individual needs and circumstances.
Support includes:
Support for women recovering from cardiac events, living with heart conditions, navigating peri- and post-menopausal changes, managing osteoporosis or concerns about bone health, or taking proactive steps towards healthy ageing.
Exercise planning that respects hormonal changes, fatigue, symptoms, and the demands of work, family, and everyday life.
Individualised exercise strategies to support cardiovascular health, bone health, strength, balance, and overall wellbeing.
Guidance to help build confidence with exercise during times of physical and hormonal transition.
Education and ongoing support to help you better understand how movement can support your health at different stages of life.

Living with POTS or dysautonomia brings its own set of challenges — dizziness, fatigue, heart rate fluctuations, brain fog and the frustration of a condition that can feel invisible to others.
Our approach focuses on gentle, targeted exercise strategies designed to help you build stability, gradually improve fitness and feel more in control of your symptoms — at a pace that respects how you're feeling day to day.
